The Association of Tourism Professionals of the local Administration of Catalonia (APTALC)

The Association of Tourism Professionals of the local Administration of Catalonia (APTALC) is an organisation based in the autonomy of Catalonia in Spain. We are a group integrated by persons who work on local public administration doing tasks that involve tourism development.

The association was born of the need to improve the coordination and share experiences among the people employed in tourism fields at the local administration. At the same time, we work to improve the coordination among those persons and the rest of the administrations and companies of the sector.

Our aim is to improve the quality of the jobs done by the professionals that work in tourism and the local administration.

 
Our objectives are:

  • Contribute and cooperate in the tourism development in Catalonia’s region from the view of the professionals who work in the public sector
     
  • To promote the image of the professionals of this sectors and the cohesion of these professionals
     
  • Establish a bridge between the workers in public sector (tourism) and the actors of other public administration and tourism enterprises
     
  • Create a platform where people could be able to exchange experiences, to work on training and research related to tourism sector, and to open discussion and dialog to improve competitiveness and quality in this sector

 
VocMat and APTALC

Our interest to take part in the program resides in sharing experiences with other tourism professionals and to establish relationships around this sector to learn and apply best practices in our region.

This organisation sit on the Management and Valorisation Groups and have specific responsibilities at national level related to creating awareness and dissemination of information about VocMat.
