TBT, a training development organisation and SME, is the VocMat project promoter and co-ordinator. TBT, which is owned by VisitScotland, Scotland’s National Tourist Board, develops and co-ordinates training and qualifications for staff in tourist information centres and for the tourism industry as a whole, in support of VisitScotland’s campaigns. This includes a wide range of awareness workshops in Scotland’s niche markets such as Wildlife, Sailing, Angling and Ancestral Tourism.
TBT carries out a consultative role to tourism training and education authorities in Scotland and overseas. This includes management of over 50 European Social Fund projects in Scotland and a range of transnational projects with countries as far apart as Estonia, Iceland and the Falkland Islands.
